Govt. should sell gold

India is facing financial crises due to rupee depreciation. Government of India should consider booking profit in gold brought 2 years ago from IMF. Selling gold won't impact our economy because Indian people are holding 25% gold reserves of the world.

Should we support regional politics ?

Wide spread protest against Mullaperiyar dam flooded all over Kerala. Media reports and statements from politicians are creating panic. Regional parties like Kerala Congress are getting more support from locals due to their intense protest. So should we encourage regional politics?

According to me regional politics is very bad for our country. Now a days central and state ministers are working for their constituencies only. If regional parties get more support then it will be bad for small states like Kerala. Unlike regional parties in big states like Tamil Nadu, UP, West Bengal etc regional parties in small states can't bargain with central government.

Economy of Kerala is dependent on people who work abroad and other states. Majority of food items we consume are imported from other states. We have huge deficit in electricity. So we have to depend on other states for our living.

According to me the main problem is over dependency on hydro-electric projects. KSEB is not willing to reduce water level in idukki dam because we will face power shortage during summer. We could have reduced dependency on hydro-electric projects if we allowed nuclear power projects. Even after taking risks our hydro-electric projects are not capable of providing full power needs of our state. Material loss due to dam disasters will be much higher than nuclear disaster. Fear of material loss may prevent some MNCs from starting business. I am not against hydro projects. But I am against over dependence on hydro projects.

Construction of new dam is very important. But we can't do that by protesting against Tamil Nadu. People in Tamil Nadu are more united than us that they can conduct bigger protest against Kerala. What we should do is to make politicians and people of Tamil Nadu understand the problem and make them believe that new dam is good for both states. People of Kerala won't get justice without support from other states. Mullaperiyar dam was built to reduce flood in Kerala and drought in Tamil Nadu. It helped both states. I hope there will be more projects in future which will benefit both states.

Cabinet approves FDI in retail

Government of India decided to allow 51 per cent Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in multi-brand retail. Many political parties protest against this decision. So is FDI bad for us?

India is a densely populated country. Food inflation is very high. But still Huge quantity of vegetables and rice are rotten. 40% vegetables produced in our country are rotten because small retailers can't preserve vegetables. Huge quantity of rice become useless because Govt. godown are not able to store them properly. If more corporates enter into retail sector then we can reduce wastage of vegetables and rice.

In kerala demand for unskilled workers are very high. So even if some unskilled workers loss job due to FDI, they can easly get other jobs. Here skilled workers go abroad and other states for getting jobs. In kerala, No. of people who do farming is very less compared to people who do trading and act as middlemen. This is affecting productivity of our state. Govt. should give importance to the welfare of farmers and consumers than welfare of traders and middlemen.

World developed from stone age to electronic age by accepting many changes. Herd will always listen to Outdated leaders who talk about Tughluq. They don't know about scientists and other reformers who changed our lives. Most scientists got recognitions only after their death. Herd protested against electricity when it was invented. But now everybody use it. Herd protest against computer when it was invented. People who protested against computers decades ago are now protesting against new technologies through their blogs. Why people who protest against FDI in retail are not protesting against huge difference between rate at which farmers sell and rate at which consumers buy? Why they are not worried about vegetables and rice becoming rotten due to lack of better storage facilities for small traders and Govt. godowns. We should accept the fact that rubber farmers are getting better price because rubber consumers are corporate tyre companies who don't let middlemen make huge profit. Organized retailers who are capable of producing value aded products from crops can provide better rates for farmers. But small retailers are not capable of adding value to crops.

Retailers can make profit by providing services like home delivery. But they prefer to make profit by preventing organized retailers from opening new shops. I don't know why traders who protest against FDI are not protesting against nokku kooli.

Titanium ores in Kerala

India has become seventh nation to process titanium sponge. Titanium sponge is a key material used in space and defence applications. Quality of titanium available in international market is of low quality. Even some ambitious projects of NASA were affected by quality of titanium.

Titanium sponge is created by processing titanium ore. It is used to make alloys that are used to make rockets. ISRO is able to control quality of titanium sponge sourced from Kerala Minerals and Metals Limited(KMML). Titanium has high strength and low weight, which is ideal for aircraft manufacture, nuclear plants, dental implants and mobile phones.

Titanium reserves are abundant in India's coast line areas. The tsunami of 2004 brought tons of titanium ore from the depths of the ocean to the coast line areas of south India. The tsunami brought 0.46 million tones of llmenite and 0.03 million tones of rutile to Chavara which is a coast line area of Kerala. Both are titanium ores.

Instead of talking about unlocking values of our assets, some outdated politicians and media are busy talking about corruption involved in the project. In other states politicians get money from promoters of companies for giving favour for their new projects. But in Kerala politicians are getting money for protesting against new projects. According to me main problems of Kerala are soft terrorism ( distributing fake currency, protest against projects which are good for our nation ) and looking charges ( nokku kooli ). According to me making money from construction activities is better than making money from destruction activities.

Reasons for suicides in Wayanad

Many farmers have suicided in Wayanad district in last few months. Many politicians claim that suicides are due to loss made in farming. Is this the reason for suicides?

I checked news regarding few suicides and found that most of them had more than 2 children. Is high birth-rate the reason for suicides?

If inflation increases then they will have to spend more money for food. If inflation decreases then will get only less money for their crops. If poor people maintain high birth-rate then that will be a burden for the society. Govt. will be forced to spend more public money to help them. Organisations which mislead poor people to maintain high birth-rate are also responsible for these suicides.

In kerala banking is the only profitable business. But if politicians won't let banks to recover money then banks will become bankrupt. If banks can't recover money from debitors then how can they pay interest to investors.

In wayanad, farmers who have more land are committing suicide while people who work for these farmers are living peacefully. If they can't make profit from farming then they should do other jobs and do farming only as part-time job. They can easily find other jobs as in kerala demand for unskilled workers is very high. The main reason for suicides is inferiority/superiority complex.

Politicians are not doing anything to reduce difference between rate at which farmer sells and rate at which consumer buys. They simply encourage farmers to take more loans.

If a farmer make loss then it becomes news. But if he make huge profit from rubber plantation then it won't become news. One solution to this problem is to impose tax on farmers who make huge profit and give that money to poor farmers.

Should we reduce engineering seats ?

Pass percentage of self-financing engineering colleges in Kerala is reducing every year. Many social activists claim that this is because more institutions are starting engineering colleges every year. They demand Govt. to reduce seats in self-financing engineering colleges. Should we reduce engineering seats?

Many engineering and medical colleges in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu were started to attract students from Kerala. They give admission to students from their state in merit seats and students from Kerala in management seats with high fees. Kerala Govt. lost huge revenue for decades due to protest against self-financing engineering and medical colleges.

If we reduce seats, students from rich families will go to other states for higher education. According to me low percentage of pass is a small problem. But if Govt. decide to increase pass percentage by giving marks liberally then that will be a big problem. Standard of education should increase nationwide and not state-wide.

Should Govt. regulate petrol price ?

Oil companies increased petrol price 10 times after Govt. deregulated petrol price. We all hate to pay more. So should Govt. regulate petrol price ?

Govt. can control rupee depreciation by not increasing Forex reserves. But Govt. can't encourage consumption of imported items like oil. But if we can produce energy from our abundant Thorium assets they oil price will start reducing. Crude price started reducing in 2008 after our nuclear deal is proof for that.

Big oil companies may earn money by smuggling oil. But percentage of oil smuggled is very less compared to other goods. So Govt. should reduce tax of goods that can easily be smuggled to our country and help people who do business with transparency.

Many people in our country hate oil companies making profit. But I don't know why they don't hate oil companies in Gulf making huge profit due to our increase in oil consumption. It is a fact that due to our limited oil reserves we won't be able to produce oil we consume. So Govt. should encourage family planning to reduce our dependency on world market. Govt. should also take steps to bring back black money from abroad.

Should India finance euro zone?

Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee yesterday said that India may provide extra financing for the euro zone. He said this when RBI keeps on hiking rates again and again, petrolium companies keeps on hiking petrol price again and again, inflation increase again and again and hundreds of children die every day.

Does people in Western countries suffer more than Indians? Basic needs of human beings are food, clothing and shelter. People of Europe and US have excess of food, clothing and shelter. The main problem in western contries is lack of buyers for properties and shelters. People who have more than 1 house may find it difficult to sell their excess houses. But this is good for homeless people. They can buy at cheaper rates. In India many people don't have enough food, clothing and shelter. Govt. should think about this before helping developed countries.

How can we reduce deficit If we finance euro zone? If Govt. use money from disinvestment for helping euro zone then that will be a big blunder.

But there is a solution. Govt. can consider providing cheaper financing to euro zone from black money recovered from Europe. This will force European Governments to speed-up action against black money.

China-US nexus against Kalpakkam nuclear plant

India have abundent thorium assets. Our long term aim is to utilize these assets to fuel reactors. Once Kalpakkam plant start operating, we can produce U-233 from thorium. U-233 produced from this plant can be burned with plutonium and thorium using Advanced Heavy Water Reactors to produce power.

If we utilize our thorium assets then US won't be able to sell uranium at higher rates. Church is getting funds from US to protest against the plant. Illiterate herd who protest against the plant are unaware that scientists who work inside the plant can get more safer jobs with high salaries abroad. They work for our nuclear projects because they are patriots. Some ( anti ) social activists are getting funds to promote soft terrorism ( protest against projects which are good for our country ).

If Idukki dam is destroyed by powerful earthquake then many people who live in 3 districts of central travancore will die. Why should we protest against nuclear projects when hydro projects are also risky?

Reserch conducted in developed countries proved that many people who live near mobile towers have brain tumor. We can avoid this by banning mobile towers and using expensive satlite phones. People won't protest against mobile towers because only people who live near tower will get benefit due to the tower. Some people protest against nuclear plants because people who live away from the plant will also get electricity from the plant. This is narrow-mindedness.

Many people die in India everyday due to malnutrition. Many people die everyday due to electric shocks. If we can't prevent death due to malnutrition, electric shocks, mobile towers etc then why should we think about possible death due to nuclear radiation.

The percentage of money used for safety, pollution control and waste management is more for nuclear projects than other power projects. So nuclear projects are safer than hydro power projects. Pollution caused by nuclear projects are less than thermal power projects. According to WHO 1.3 million people die every year due to air pollution. If we can generate more nuclear power then we can reduce pollution caused due to petrol, diesel, coal etc.

Anti-social elements used Fukushima accident as an opportunity to intensify protest. Fukushima accident was caused due to Tsunami. People who died due to Fukushima accident was very less compared to death toll due to Tsunami. I don't know why people who protest against nuclear project are not demanding for burying sea to avoid Tsunami.

I don't think people who who protest against nuclear projects will support Govt. to increase electricity tariffs. I support nuclear projects because I need cheaper electricity. In future we will need more electricity for projects like metro rail, electronic city etc. If we don't produce more energy from nuclear plants then people will protest against these projects to avoid power cuts. In India population density is very high. So we should encourage nuclear projects which produce more energy from less area.

Gulf countries have developed because they utilized their oil reserves. How can we develop without utilizing our thorium and titanium reserves? India have 25% of world's thorium reserves. We can't reduce trade deficit by reducing oil imports. But we can do that by exporting Pressurised Heavy Water Reactors (PHWRs).

Even though protest against Kalpakkam plant is not as intense as protest against Koodankulam Plant, If govt. decide to abandon Koodankulam Plant then protesters will intensify protest against Kalpakkam plant. We should be more concern about China's nuclear weapons than our nuclear power projects. Please check the below chart.

Do we need Grand Prix ?

India's first Grand Prix was a success in terms of response from international community. Jaypee group proved their capability in developing infrastructure.

There are many controversies about the event. Some farmers were forced to surrender land for the project at cheaper than market rate. But that is a small issue compared to commonwealth games. Govt. wasted huge amount of public money for commonwealth games. Govt. should stop spending public money for events like commonwealth games. Reduction of agricultural land due to events like Grand prix will cause high inflation. The solution for this is encorage family planning and not banning such events.

Another allegation is that the event wasted huge subsidized petrol. But the fact is oil subsidy( especially for petrol ) is very less compared to tax. So Govt. is earning tax for every drop of oil wasted.

The promoters of the event asked Govt. to reduce tax. I am also against tax reduction for high profile games. But it is not as bad as Govt. spending public money for useless events like commonwealth games. Some state governments gave tax excemptions for IPL matches. A large number of people in India spend money for watching cricket matches. But only few people get money from cricket in India. Why can't Govt use excess money of BCCI for welfare of people?

Almost 99% money spend by Govt. for sports is of no use. Many people enter into sports with an intension to get Govt. job in sports quota. Many sports personalities like Viswanathan Anand, Abhinav Bindra, leander paes etc who made us proud achieved that without any Govt. aid.

So Govt. should reduce spending public money for sports activities. Govt. should encorage private companies to organize events like Grand Prix and earn tax. This will help Govt. to reduce tax burden from people.
